Re: Discuss differences between process mapping and supply chain mapping.

Using different combinations of the two words, Kayak-Skiff

Skyak

Kayiff

Skiyak

Skayaff

Skayiff

Skayakiff

Short and simple is easy, so I like Socal Beach Bums first suggestion

You could try something like "skayak" or "motokayak"kind of a hybrid between a skiff and a kayak. Ive seen people blend terms like that when their boats dont quite fit into one category, and it just makes sense for something like a motorized kayak thats more skiff-like.

Re: Discuss differences between process mapping and supply chain mapping.

I think that’s the dream, having a balance between the job that pays the bills, and time to make art. Well, I think the dream would be to have the job that you love that pays the bills, while having time to make art When I have a job that I enjoy, I find it supports my creativity.

Sorry to hear about the rough times.

Re: Discuss differences between process mapping and supply chain mapping.

Its like people dont understand the basic laws of supply and demand.  If there is a shortage of something, the price should go up.  If there is an overabundance it should go down.  Why should disaster situations be any different?

Re: Discuss differences between process mapping and supply chain mapping.

Uh, no....its like you dont understand the dynamics of a DISASTER.  Those shortages are aberrant results of normal supply/demand, and the "commodity" is needed for staying alive heat, generators, recovery and clean-up chain saws, transportation.

Would you say the same if Texans had a DISASTER and drinking water was the "commodity" in short supply?

Re: Discuss differences between process mapping and supply chain mapping.

Sometimes when chicken is on sale at a huge discount at my local grocery store they say "only 1 per customer" and if you try to buy 2 they say "nuh-uh". I think its some weird form of peace-time "rationing". The second point you make is of course an important problem but perhaps you can call in the UN to prop up the supply side to some small extent.
